rāumen is an artists quartet based in cologne and düsseldorf.
by using the media of art and architecture, the approach is no less than a new idea of the world itself:
»one that approaches quietly and questioningly, takes root in thinking and understands that it itself and everything in it is alive. in cheerfulness rather than bitterness, human sensitivity must be redefined as a part of nature, and not in its demarcation. this definition entails a complexity that we pursue in our work. in dealing with socially relevant issues, we work at the interface between art and architecture, which we want to liberate from rigid categories, in order to broaden the horizon of disciplines in a world in which we give things and actors the space they equally need.«
